Endodontics from the Crown Down: Back to the Future!

Boston, MA •Saturday, October 7, 2017 • 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

If you have been looking for an all-encompassing Endo course that covers more than just root canals, then join us as we welcome Dr. Brian Jafine for this full-day, multi-part lecture that will cover a variety of topics, ranging from Cracked Teeth to Regenerative Endodontics

Cracked and Fractured Teeth
Cracked teeth present dentists with myriad challenges, from diagnosis to treatment. Dr. Jafine aims to demystify this frustrating but common scenario by taking participants through each component of a cracked tooth restoration.

Regenerative Endodontics
Managing immature teeth with pulpal necrosis presents a unique set of issues, particularly since implants are contraindicated for young patients whose craniofacial skeletons are still growing. By explaining how using tissue engineering and regenerative medicine to regenerate functional pulpal tissues, Dr. Jafine will illustrate how “regenerative endodontics” offers an alternative to doctors attempting to treat such cases.

Root Canal Treatment and a Crown, Extraction and an Implant…What Should I Do?
The preservation of the natural dentition is the primary goal of dentistry, and wherever possible, dentists try to find ways to save their patients' teeth from extraction. Due to recent technological advances, however, the field of dentistry has seen an increased number of compromised teeth being extracted and replaced with implants. While they are a remarkable advancement for dentistry in general, implants are not always the right option. Dr. Jafine will show participants how to evaluate the restorability of a compromised tooth and how to use retention therapies should extraction be deemed unnecessary.
