Managing Moderate to Advanced Periodontal Disease: Minimally Invasive Anti-Microbial Treatment - A Dinner Course

Boston, MA •Thursday, May 31, 2018, 6:30 p.m. - Tuesday, May 1, 2018, 8:30 p.m.

Come have dinner at Tufts and earn some CE credits at the same time! We are pleased to welcome back Dr. Kohner, who will discuss a scientifically sound, and evidence based, approach for effective control of moderate to advanced periodontal disease using minimally invasive surgical and non-surgical intervention!

Dr. Kohner will explain how we might use these techniques in combination with scaling and root planing procedures (SCRP) with no flap surgery required. Both indications will be explained. He will show how adding chemotherapeutic methods to specifically target the periodontal bacteria allows for successful management of very advanced cases that might otherwise have been treated only with extraction. By doing so, practitioners can see improved results as compared to classic surgical methods which may not kill all bacteria at the diseased sites.

Attendees will learn a safe, economical and predictable means for treating and maintaining moderate to severe periodontitis. These innovative methods will be explained by outlining both in-office procedures, as well as specific anti-microbial procedures for the patient to do at home. When combined, they yield predictable clinical results for previously failing cases or advanced cases treated for the first time. Dr. Kohner draws from real life cases, clinical photos and radiographs, as well as a veterinary application in dogs that also shows excellent results.
