Course Information

Understanding the nature of dental malpractice and the underlying factors that can result in a lawsuit are of the utmost importance to all dental professionals. Join Dr Krajekian for this dinner lecture where he will use his unique personal experience as both plaintiff and defense expert to help dental offices learn how to identify their potential risks and safeguard themselves from legal action.

Drawing on a variety of real life cases, including wrong tooth extractions, missed cancer diagnosis, and patient death, Dr. Krajekian will help participants understand how to navigate the difficult conversations and procedures that can open offices up to lawsuits. Participants will become familiar with the extent and limitations of different kinds of malpractice insurance and tail coverage as well as the anatomy of a lawsuit, including how malpractice attorneys approach their cases, define the standard of care, and intimidate practitioners into settling. This short course will be jam-packed with invaluable information relevant to everyone in a dental office, so be sure not to miss it!

Speaker Information
JOSEPH KRAJEKIAN, D.M.D., M.D., FAAOMS, DABOMS, is a board certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. During Dr. Krajekian’s academic appointment at the Cleveland Clinic, he founded the virtual simulation course for management of medical emergencies at the dental office. In addition, he was also associate clinical facility at Case Western School of Dental Medicine in Cleveland Ohio.  
 Dr. Krajekian actively teaches and lectures both locally and nationally. He has numerous publications in various aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery, and he currently serves as editor for the Oxford Journal of Surgical Case Reports and International Advances in Dentistry and Oral Health.

Cancellation Policy
The Division of Continuing Education reserves the right to end registration when enrollment limit is reached and to cancel, modify, or alter content or faculty for any course if circumstances indicate the need for such a change. If the school finds it necessary to cancel a course, a full refund will be granted. All attempts to contact registrants will be made as soon as possible in the event of a course cancellation. The school will not be held responsible for any losses due to travel arrangements made by the registrant.

In the event of inclement weather (such as a snow emergency) or other extenuating circumstances, the Division of Continuing Education may be forced to cancel a course. If a course has been cancelled, we will contact participants by the phone number and/or email address provided. You may call or email our office on the day of the course if you are uncertain of a course’s status.

Refunds

Full tuition refund or credit will be given for cancellations received at least two weeks prior to course date. Refunds or tuition credit will not be issued for participant no-shows.
