Course Information

Making sure you, your office, and your team are prepared to effectively handle medical emergencies is undoubtedly a challenge. As such, we are pleased to announce a new and unique hands-on course designed to address this dilemma by giving participants actual experience managing crises using Tufts' state of the art Clinical Skills and Simulation Center!

 Participants in this course will learn how to prepare, recognize, manage, and prevent a wide variety of medical emergencies, such as syncope, chest pain, cardiac arrest, seizures, asthma attacks, anaphylaxis, hyperventilation, and more in the dental office through simulated clinical scenarios. Dr. Krajekian will provide participants with essential information on how to recognize and handle medical emergencies, as well as how to equip themselves and their office with the necessary tools to manage them. Participants will then have the opportunity to apply these principles and techniques to hands-on-practice using the SimMan 3G, a high-tech interactive mannequin that simulates live patient experience.

Speaker Information
JOSEPH KRAJEKIAN, D.M.D., M.D., FAAOMS, DABOMS, is a board certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. During Dr. Krajekian’s academic appointment at the Cleveland Clinic, he founded the virtual simulation course for management of medical emergencies at the dental office. In addition, he was also associate clinical facility at Case Western School of Dental Medicine in Cleveland Ohio.  
 Dr. Krajekian actively teaches and lectures both locally and nationally. He has numerous publications in various aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery, and he currently serves as editor for the Oxford Journal of Surgical Case Reports and International Advances in Dentistry and Oral Health.

Cancellation Policy
The Division of Continuing Education reserves the right to end registration when enrollment limit is reached and to cancel, modify, or alter content or faculty for any course if circumstances indicate the need for such a change. If the school finds it necessary to cancel a course, a full refund will be granted. All attempts to contact registrants will be made as soon as possible in the event of a course cancellation. The school will not be held responsible for any losses due to travel arrangements made by the registrant.

In the event of inclement weather (such as a snow emergency) or other extenuating circumstances, the Division of Continuing Education may be forced to cancel a course. If a course has been cancelled, we will contact participants by the phone number and/or email address provided. You may call or email our office on the day of the course if you are uncertain of a course’s status.

Refunds

Full tuition refund or credit will be given for cancellations received at least two weeks prior to course date. Refunds or tuition credit will not be issued for participant no-shows.
