'Red, White, Yellow, Blue: So Many Colors, What Shall I Do?' and 'Medical Emergencies for the Entire Dental Team'
Boston, MA •Friday, March 9, 2018 • 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
'Red, White, Yellow, Blue: So Many Colors, What Shall I Do?'
In the morning portion of the course, Dr. Tanya Wright will demonstrate how to recognize the pathologic conditions in the oral cavity, not limited to dental caries and periodontal disease, that dental practitioners encounter on a regular basis. Ranging from variants of normal to reactive conditions to benign and malignant neoplasms, which can be observed during a routine head and neck examination, it can be challenging to recognize and identify these conditions. Although different methods and techniques for remembering how to classify these entities, such as common location and color presentation, are taught in dental school or residency, they can be forgotten if not used on a constant basis. By utilizing these approaches, one can avoid feeling overwhelmed when describing and providing a clinical impression or diagnosis.
This course will help dental practitioners become familiar with various oral pathologic conditions based on their color presentation and feel comfortable in formulating a reasonable differential diagnosis.
'Medical Emergencies for the Entire Dental Team'
In the afternoon portion of the course, Dr. Morton Rosenberg will address the prevention and management of medical emergencies in the dental office. Topics will include: preparing your office and team for a medical emergency; emergency drugs and emergency equipment; diagnosis and treatment of the obstructed airway; and management of minor and major emergencies.
